Susan Hawthorne has a PhD in political science and women's studies from the University of Melbourne.  A philosopher and theories (and poet), she has written about war and terrorism and co-edited with Bronwyn Winter, September 11, 2011: Feminist Perspectives.  She is also the author of Wild Politics: Feminism, Globalisation and Bio/diversity (2002).  She is adjunct professor at James Cook University, Townsville, Australia. (hawsu@spinifexpress.com.au)

Held’s examination of terrorism is like work by one of the great miniaturist painters. Held makes you consider the detail, and slowly she pulls you into the framework of her argument.
