Lani Roberts earned both her B.A. and Ph.D. in philosophy from the University of Oregon.  She is an associate professor of philosophy at Oregon State University, where she has been teaching since 1989.  She is an ethicist who studies, teaches, and writes about moral philosophy generally, moral epistemology, and applied ethics particularly.  Her primary area of research is philosophy of oppression, and specifically feminist philosophies.  She co-edits the Journal for Philosophy in the Contemporary World.  She is an active public scholar, introducing philosophical questions to citizens statewide on behalf of Oregon Humanities since 2004.
